Description
Nasturtiums are easy to grow and care for. When done well, they produce beautiful flowers that are both edible and attractive to pollinators. Nasturtiums prefer full sun to partial shade; they can be grown in containers or directly in the ground. These guys like moist soil, but be careful not to overwater. Nasturtiums promote digestive health, respiratory health, and skin health.
Nasturtium can be consumed raw in salads, sandwiches, or pesto, or prepared as a tea or tincture for internal use, with raw consumption preserving its vitamin C and active compounds.
These plants are fantastic companions in the garden, attracting pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, while also serving as a trap crop for pests like aphids, squash bugs, and cabbage loopers, which helps protect your veggies like beans, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, kale, melons, pumpkins, and radishes.
